The Card Swipe Profile

The Card Swipe box is a medium sized enclosure, made from various different types of plastics in varying thickness. This design looks fairly simple on the outside, however the internal structure of this enclosure is very detailed. The main differing feature of this enclosure is of course the use of the card swipe mechanism. This vital feature was achieved by BAFBOX without any tooling or moulding requirements.

Externally apart from the card swipe slot there is a large recess for the key pad membrane to sit upon, speaker holes, perspex window, and a cut out for a key lock mechanism. In the examples pictured above these designs have been painted a bright loud colour. The choice of these colours makes the enclosure stand out during their application. This paint feature could be any colour or could be replaced by other decorative measures such as screen printing.

Internally there is a detailed fine structure of plastic supports and inserts to accommodate all of the electronics and card swipe mechanism. There are numerous pillars, inserts and bonding, all which add to the complete support for the enclosure. On the base there are also 4 bonded plastic strengthening supports to aid the attachment of the enclosure to its permanent application.
