The Intercom Profile

The Intercom enclosure is a small and rigid N2U design, made from 4mm, light grey, fine grain, high impact polystyrene. There are 4 cut outs for power supply, LED's and connectors. The main aspect of the design however is the membrane recess and speaker slot.

The recess allows the keypad membrane to be placed flush against the enclosure and enable the user ease of use in its application.
The speaker slots have been specifically designed to suit the enclosure's environment. This enclosure is designed to house an entrance intercom which is placed on an external wall. The speaker slots have therefore been designed to allow space for the volume to escape and at the same time protect the internal electronics from the weather elements such as rain.

Internally there is a recess, internal strengthening wall, and circuit board slot.
The recess helps to hold the speaker/microphone in place behind the speaker slots. To support the electronics and circuitry there is a circuit board slot to hold everything securely. Finally, to give extra strength to the enclosure there is an internal wall which once in place strengthens the area for the membrane to be pressed.

Finally to add to the enclosures appearance and ease of use, the design features some screen printing featuring the company name and logo which does not show above.
